Planning

Prior to implementing any large project it is vital that proper planning take place. This includes but is not limited to identifying who will be the project leader, who will head up each of the functional modules of the system, establishing a "real world" time frame for design, installation, training, and actual startup.

Implementing manufacturing software without knowledgeable, experienced professional support is as error prone as building a home without a reputable contractor. Many software companies suggest implementing their product on your own. Without prior experience, most "do it yourselfers" find in six to 18 months
that they are not getting the information needed to control their business. They then look for professional help to solve their problems. My own experience with this condition is that it costs about three times more to try to correct the problem than it would have cost to properly plan and design it in the first place.

Design

Initial design of a system to meet your needs is the most critical step in selecting and installing any system. AAS provides on site planning with management and selection of the best fit package to meet your objectives. Definition of real "NEEDS" versus "WANTS" is important to system design. "WANTS" will be analyzed to insure that the cost of capturing information is justified, but also making sure that nothing prohibits future inclusion when justified.

Training

Installation of the system includes specification of the various "Defaults" that each system requires. Most customers that try to install systems on their own usually make decisions without knowing the real impact of each default variable and later find that concise, meaningful information is not available without additional manipulation. This is the critical stage requiring understanding of your business needs as well as the capability of the software.
